Old Navy is an American clothing brand as well as a chain of stores owned by Gap. It has more than 1,000 stores in the United States and Canada. For the holidays in 2011, Old Navy released a mobile app called Snap Appy’, which allows consumers to take a picture of the Old Navy logo or in-store logos to win fashion apparel. It was the first app to use IQ Engines instant computer vision search for iPhone and Android.

Voxy provides a mobile language-learning app based on learning from real-life. Voxy required visual search to label any object that a user snaps a photo of - they required an any-image recognition engine that only IQ Engines offers. Any object photo taken by a user is identified and labeled in English: voila, learning English simply by taking a photo. Voxy was quickly able to add IQ Engines’ image recognition to its application, improving their user language learning experience.

Recently SAP announced its Apollo initiative to its 6,000 retail customers. SAP wants to empower precision marketing that engages the consumer with point of sale information to smooth out the purchasing process and inform the consumer. In short, SAP’s precision marketing is out to revolutionize retail! Among other features, retailer consumers can use visual search to identify a product either by QR code or by scanning an image of the product.

Best Buy launched their mobile application using IQ Engines visual search to allow the consumer to take a picture and receive product catalog information from Best Buy’s extensive product database. The application has over 1 million users and growing. Consumers use the application to get product information to better inform them in their purchasing decision. The application captures a consumer at the moment of purchase interest and now a photo allows Best Buy to begin the customer acquisition process.

ESRB ratings are designed to provide concise and impartial information about the content in computer and video games so consumers, especially parents, can make informed purchase decisions. Using IQ Engines image recognition platform, ESRB added Photo Search to its application to allow retrieving ESRB results just by taking a photo of a Xbox or Playstation game cover.

Hello Vino is the leading wine selection app for iPhone and Android devices. Consumers use the application to snap an image of the wine of interest and they receive wine reviews, scores, recommendations. Not sure what wine to pair with dinner? Ask Hello Vino. Love the wine you just had with dinner? Snap an image of the label and purchase a case right then and there. Hello Vino uses IQ Engines to identify the wine in its images, allowing the application to provide reviews, scores and food parings. Enjoy!
